LONDON Stand-up Comedy Writing Session

**THEATRE DELI IS MOVING! NEW VENUE LOCATION (IN CENTRAL LONDON TBA)** This session is for you'd like to sharpen some material alongside developing new ideas and jokes. The day is for: * Gigging acts/ stand-up course graduates / anyone with other kinds of comedy experience * or anyone who'd like to start stand-up with a real focus on the material. I am a comedy writing specialist and a director so from me you will receive: * writing techniques, inspiration and a forensic eye on the writing, homing in on how to make material work. Bring some material to work on and you will also develop new material on the day. * and a director's perspective on your performance of your material - for the material to really land you need to deliver it well and bring it to life. Be inspired by great writing exercises and creative prompts. Everyone will get up on the microphone several times to share work, get feedback and try out ideas. - Everyone gets up on the mic to do an inspiring creative exercise as a warm-up. - then you can share up to 3 minutes of material you are working on. - the session will also include a quick writing exercise where you're given a subject, an angle and a technique to play with and you have 5 minutes to write something. Believe it or not, this does produce the beginnings of some good material! - You will also try some simple joke writing exercises that will produce new one-liners (including some keepers!) And you'll be learning writing techniques you will be draw on long after the class. You'll leave feeling a sharper, funnier performer, your creativity will be expanded, you'll meet some great people and will have a truly fun and memorable day.
