Live Weekend Stand-up Comedy Workshops in 2026 (London, Stroud, Bath)

In 2026 I will be running (pretty much) monthly one day weekend stand-up comedy workshops that will be spread across London, Stroud and (probably) Bath.

If you've never been to one of my sessions before, the photos below (which I'm tempted to grandly call a "photo essay") will give you a flavour. The gentleman leading the class (me) will be a little older than the one in the photo given that these pictures date from 2018! (Which is also evidence of how infrequently I get round to getting photographs of my workshops!)

You'll see the session is a mix of:

  • Me sharing words of wisdom on stand-up (and right at the end of the photo essay there is a recording of one such talk).

  • Hilarious and inspiring collaborative exercises.

  • And opportunites to get on the microphone individually - in the sessions for existing stand-ups there will be a chance to share material you want to work on, and the open access sessions where complete beginners are welcome, you will respond to creative prompts and exercises in the class.

Here are the upcoming sessions:

LONDON: Stand-up Comedy Crowd Work Masterclass, London

A first class of 2026 for gigging stand-ups. This one features regular special guest Geoff Whiting, one of the best MCs in the country and a master of crowd work, sharing his experience, wisdom and answering your questions.

Saturday 24th January, 10.45am-3.45pm

@ Theatre Deli, Leadenhall Street, London (near Liverpool Street Station)

STROUD: Relaxed Stand-up Comedy Workshop

One for beginners, people who are doing stand-up already and those wanting to develop killer speaking skills. I have titled this to try and assuage the fears of those who find the thought of stand-up to be terrifying! (And if you do, go to the end of his blog to hear me talk about making it less scary.).

Sunday 25th January 2pm-5pm

@ The Centre for Science & Art, Stroud

LONDON: Stand-up Storytelling Workshop

This is the workshop for you if you're a stand-up comedian wanting to sharpen your storytelling, or if you're a speaker or presenter looking to add killer storytelling skills to your speaking. Learn how to apply strategic embellishment, act-outs, present tense narration, meta comedy and a clear comic structure to create consistent laughter throughout a story.

Saturday 28th February, 10.45am-3.45pm

@ Theatre Deli, Leadenhall Street, London (near Liverpool Street Station)

And here's that grandly titled photo essay! Note this workshop was a room above the Old Coffee House pub in Soho.
